Imphal, January 17: All Manipur Film Producers' Association has decided to approach the law court to redress their grievances against alleged denial of subsidy to Manipur film producers by the State Govt.A decision to this effect was arrived at during an emergency meeting of its executive committee at Sagolband Salam Leikai with Moirangthem Nilamani in the chair.

The meeting took serious note the step-motherly treatment meted out to the film producers of the State.

The meeting strongly condemned failure on the part of the Govt to provide an amount of Rs 15 lakhs as subsidy to producers of seven celluloid films and some video films produced before 1997, despite the assurance given on the floor of the Assembly during the budget session in July 2003.Agitation threat: Highway and Bridge Protection Committee, Manipur has threatened to launch agitation if the State Government went ahead with its proposal of constructing a Zonal Water Supply Scheme near Minuthong at Sanjenthong under PHE Department.
