As a mark of respect to the departed soul of former Chief Minister and member of manipur Legislative Assembly RK Ranbir members of the House condoled the demise and a observed two minute silence on the opening day of the Budget session today.
Due to the obituary session other schedules listed for the day including presentation of the Budget Estimate 2006-07, supplementary demands for grants 2005-06 and fifteen report of the business Advisory Committee 2006 have been deferred to another day.
paying rich tribute to the former CM, leader of the Opposition RK dorendra described Rk Ranbir as dedicated, hard-working and a leader with wide public acceptance.
During his brief tenure as the chief Minister of Manipur, RK Ranbir, who also held the post of speakership, had devoted towards economic emancipation and social elevation of the State public, continued the BJP legislature and added that Ranbir's contributions would be remembered for a long time.
Desiring that the opening day session conclude with the obituary Dorendra called upon the House members to defer other issues for a later date.
joining in the obituary session, chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh described Rk Ranbir as an eminent social worker, politician to reckon with and an efficient administrator.
Highlighting contributions made by the former Chief Minister for socio-economic upliftment of the general masses and recalling distinct qualities to intermingle with the public, Ibobi also prayed for the peaceful rest of the departed soul.
