Imphal, February 22: Chief Secretary jarnail Singh has asked respective Deputy Commissioners to furnish names of contractors who had been extracting contract works in power, PWD, PHED and Minor Irrigation departments and whose works are not satisfactory.

The Chief Secy's insistence on the list is informed to be connected to processes for black-listing the those contractors who are not executing their assignment in the proper manner, according to informed source.

The DCs have been intimated to provide details of contractors engaged in engineering departments at the earliest as a final decision on whether to assign further contract works or black-list them would be taken on Feb 28.While contractors whose records are unsatisfactory face prohibition those found to be executing their assignment in a proper manner would be awarded, informed the source.
