Following the debacle in the Nachom Miss Manipur contest on February 18, the winners will be selected again by coming Sunday.
Confessing of some blunders due to misunderstanding concerning the 8th clause of its rules and regulations, Nachom noted all other comments by the contestants as unreasonable.
In a press conference held today at the office of Nachom, it programme committee supervisor, T Tiken informed that the 1st Nachom Miss Manipur would culminate with the selection of the winner and 1st Runners up by Sunday, along with distribution of prizes.
It may be recalled that the finale of the contest on February 18 was disrupted just after the winner of 2nd runners up title was declared following complains of unethical and discriminatory conduct by the organisers.
The two contestant still in the fray for the coveted crown are Konjengbam Rameshori and Lourembam Surmala.
It is reported that the two contestants are tied with 38.5 points each, between whom the winner will be selected after put them to test with five questions each by the panel of judges who were in the disrupted final.
Nachom officials further refuted all allegation of misconduct and violation of rules by some contestants as baseless as reported in the media.
On the other hand it confessed to its blunder for selecting six contestants instead of five violating clause 8 of its rules and regulations.
On the complaint by some contestants concerning wearing of paints by some contestants, Tiken asserted that in all the formal rounds for selection of winners of different sub-titles, no contestant wore paints.
Clarifying on the controversy surrounding wether pine (u-chan) being a tree or flower, he remarked that the Nachom's version that pine is a flower was according to a publication Leirol published by People Museum of Kakching.
