Observing that Self Help Groups would be able to provide employment to many employed persons and help in the overall development of the State, Minister of PHED, Govindas Konthoujam has lauded this self employment movement through SHGs while participating as chief guest in a motivation programme for constitution of SHGs at his own home at Ningthoukhong today.
Speaking as guest of honour, Chairman of Loktak Development Authority (LDA), MLA N Loken noted that these SHGs provides enormous benefits to many unemployed women.
Taking part in the programme, Chairman of MANITRON, Bijoy Koijam while observing that the National Cooperative Union of India has been providing the much needed funding to numerous SHGs, appealed to the people to give up the habit of non-payment of loans after taking loans.
In his presidential speech, Chairman of PDA, K Ranjit informed that about 151 SHGs exclusively for women have been instituted in his assembly constituency and this proved the benefits of such SHGs to women.
NCUI Chairman of project coordination committee, Manipur, Kh Borkeshor informed that about 150 SHGs would be instituted in Bishenpur district of which 50 would be exclusively for women.
