The Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today said in the floor of the House on the issue of the part time lecturers strike that the government has to look from a different perspective.
The problem of the school lecturers can not be treated separately.
The issues of college part time lecturers and large numbers of other appointments on similar basis have also to be considered.
The government has no bad intention in this regard he clarified.
The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Part Time Lecturers' Association (AMGHSPTLA) today said it will negotiate until a formal letter is received from the Chief Minister.
Earlier the Minister and the Commissioner had used strong words against the lecturers during the talks.
The issue is not extension of six months and basic pay under ROP 96 it said.
The lecturers are demanding that the Government Issue extension order on their own and a written statement that the minimum basic pay will be provided once the 12th Finance Commission awards are available.
The conditions of the women lecturers in jail have also deteriorated.
The conditions of their children are pathetic.
The government will go to history as one which forced parents and children to part ways it said.
During the 12 years of service many doctors and engineers have been produced.
The fundamental rights of the teachers have been violated it said.
The government should understand that the teachers are working hard to produce good students it said.
It submitted memoranda to the Chief Minister and the Education minister to provide minimum basic pay and implementation of the draft policy on 12 March 2004.After waiting for a long time in the interest of the students the teachers called started the stir during the vacations it today said.
The government is least concerned about the students as the children of the high ranking officials do nor study at government schools the association today charged.
Large part of the syllabus must have been covered in the private schools but in the government schools classes have not started due to the apathy, of the government.
