Imphal, August 09: Prolonged neglect, holding up the periodical cheek up and repairing works by the authority in the Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium has now brought the historic stadium perhaps the most expensive artificial turf in mysterious state.

The apathy of the government or the authority to pay clear attention towards the regulation of the maintenance works taken up now and then just to ensure the plight of this particular field lead to escalation.

Interestingly, despite request at many and even different columns on this issue by the general public in the local dailies for making immediate repairing with a view to the present condition of sprinkler system and surface water drain to save the field from the jaws of death, the authority, even after leaving eye witnessed found themselves either ignoring or incapable of handling it at the sooner.

And apart from this so called repairing works either big or small still look old fashioned and the government presence or authority talks are name only in what the present trend or works can be treated as complete paralysis and non-functional.

And it is well known fact that owing to non-repairing of broken pipelines and malpractices of badly maintained sprinkler system and surface water drains as well now threatened the life of the world latest model turf.

The field is meant only the nerve centre of talent youths where they supposed to make their hockey career on the top.

Then why can't the authority take care of the field? Yet another disagreed and remarked, when and how the repair works of these pipelines would take up nobody form the authority concerned had any accurate answer to this question or any picture in the element of truth.

Knowledgeable sources also disclosed that the Director of Youth Affairs and sports has directed the concerned engineering department camped at Khuman Lampak to prepare the required estimate at an early date but there is no such urgency and no any information has so far been received.

It means that negligence by the state government or sports Body has driven the one and the only successful field of International standard to distress position.

The Astroturf set up mainly for the V-National Games where Manipur claimed the prestigious Raja Bhalendra Trophy for overall champion is presently in deteriorating stage.

But what is commendable at this juncture is that the authority takes up no works to relief the lakhs of people particularly the sports fan but simply wasting time in reacting to the decision of the appeals.

It is clearly known that the resort for the last couple of years or so far has been only for the authority to merely calculate and again revenue collected is not properly utilized.

Then is not the duty or service of the authority to make it on the line? Is the authority found sitting without slightest concern in complacency enjoying the ghastly scenes? The cry of Hockey Players for the state for paternal generously, as a child should expect from the parents.
