Imphal, December 27: Obser-ving that under Section 10(1) of the Manipur Shops and Establishments Act, 1972 (Act no IV of 1972) all shops are requi-red to be closed for a day once a week, the Labour Commissioner, G Tombi has issued a notification asking all shops to abide by the guidelines.

Saying that violation of the Act is an offence punishable by Court, the notice urged the inspectors oncenred to enforce the provisions of the Act and to ensure closure of shops and establishments for a day once in a week.
