Imphal, July 06:
The initial euphoria over BSNL's cell-one mobile service which were announced to much fanfare in May this year in Churachandpur has finally died down as the first set of bills arrived.
The bills for the first month of the phone's activation carries costs ranging from Rs 500 to 1000 plus.
While the due date mentioned in the bill is 8 July, many undelivered bills are still lying at the CCpur post office, Tuibuong till today.
It may be mentioned that there are more than 600 mobile phones presently in Lamka.
According to some subscribers, the first problem is that the bills never came to the subscribers address mentioned in the application form.
The subscribers have to visit the post office, where the bills are kept in a pile, and get their copy there.
Secondly, the subscribers have to pay for their bills in bank draft or cheque at Imphal.
That means the subscriber has to spend one day at the bank, pay the extra exchange charges and then go 'to Imphal for delivery.
