In today's first match of the ongoing 4th Edition of the Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the Vision India Project of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), YWC, Thambalkhong beat MBSU, Wahengbam Leikai 3-1 and won the match.
Both teams played the match with full determination to win.
They found it hard to dominate over one another.
The first half of the match was a very competitive match between the two teams.
However lack of better coordination among the players of MBSU in the early minutes of the second half resulted to their defeat.
YWC took the first lead in the 4th minute of the match.
The first goal of YWC was scored by L Ibungobi.
It was equalised by P Prashanjit of MBSU in the 5th minute of the match.
The first half concluded in a tie as no players of both teams could scored any further goal against one another.
However players of YWC played the second half of the match more substantially and scored two successive goals against MBSU in the 50th and 53rd minutes.
N Dhananjoy and K Regan scored the two goals of YWC.
MBSU players recovered soon and tried hard to equalise the score but could not make it till the end of the match.
In another keenly contested match TRAU, Kwakeithel beat goalless USA, Khurai with a solitary goal.
Both teams displayed a real tough match against one another giving each other no chance to strike goals against one another.
However L Bikram of TRAU got his chance to strike the solitary winning goal of his team against USA in the 19th minute of the match.
On the other hand players of USA tried hard but could noit equalise the score and lost the match.
In anoither match MPSC beat PYC, Phoudel 3-1 and won the third match.
Both teams played the match in a competitive way.
But lack of better coordination among the players of PYC was significant throughout the match right from the beginning.
The fourth match today was played between NEROCA, Sangakpham and TRUGPU, Nambol.
TRUGPU beat goalless NEROCA with two goals and won the match.
Both teams displayed a tough fight against one another throughout the match right from the begnning.
But lack of better coordination among the players of NEROCA forced them to accept their defeat.
After much attempts TRUGPU registered its first goal against NEROCA in the 22nd minute of the match.
L Ratan scored the first goal of TRUGPU in the 22nd minute of the match.
With one goal ahead of them, players of NEROCA tried their best to equalised the score.
On the other hand TRUGPU players too defended themselves well against the various attempts of their opponents.
The first half concluded with TRUGPU leading with one goal.
Second half showed no difference in the playing tactics of the two teams each of them trying to dominate over one another.
As the match progress TRUGPU registered their second goal against NEROCA in the 62nd minute of the match which was scored by T Shyamo.
NEROCA players tried in vain to equalise the score and the match concluded with TRUGPU winning.
Meanwhile, AIM, Khabam Lamkhai and ESU, Wangkhei played a tie with scores 2-2 in the last match today.
Both teams displayed a real tough match against one another throughout the match.
AIM dominantly played the first half while ESU played back dominantly in the second half of the match.
AIM took the first lead in the 14th minute of the match with a goal of Ph Roshan.
L Herojit scored the second goal in the 30th minute.
On the other hand H Doren scored the first equaliser goal of ESU in the 68th minute of the match while M Raju scored the second equaliser goal in the 73rd minute.
No further goals were scored by any players of both teams and the match concluded in a tie.
