THAU and AIM won the 27th State Level Mini Boys' and 21st State Level Sub-Junior Boys' Football Tournament, 2009 organised by THAU at THAU ground as the tournament concluded today.
THAU, Thangmeiband beat LKYDA, Laipham Khunou 1-0 in a keenly contested final match and won the winner's title of mini boys.
Both teams displayed a real tough match against one another throughout the match right from the beginning giving each other no chance to strike goals.
Full coordination among the players of both teams can be seen throughout the match.
However THAU was a litttle bit lucky when it was the time to win the title.
THAU got its chance to win the match in the 15th minute of the match when its player W Robert scored his team's solitary goal against LKYDA.
With one goal ahead of them and their opponents being a tough one, players of LKYDA tried their best to equalised the score but could not make it till the end of the match and they finished up in runners up.
W Robert of THAU was adjusted the title of Man of the Match.
Shahajahan of LKYDA won the title of best player while TBSFA, Taobungkhok won the title of best discipline team.
Winning team THAU was awarded a cash prize of Rs 6,000 along with the trophy while runners up team LKYDA was awarded a cash prize of Rs 4,000 along with the trophy.
Meanwhile in the final match of the sub junior boys tournament played today, AIM, Khabam Lamkhai beat LUSA, Langol 1-0 and won the winner's title.
It was a real tough fight between the two teams each other trying their best to dominate over one another and strike goals against one another throughout the match.
Full coordination among the players of both teams can be seen right from the beginning through the whole course of the match.
As they played the match with almost equal skills and tactics, they found it hard to dominate over one another and strike goals.
As a result the first half concluded in a goalless draw.
However in the second half AIM registered their winning goal against LUSA in the 58th minute of the match which was scored by L Robert.
Winner AIM was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with the trophy while runner LUSA was awarded Rs 3,000 with the trophy.
L Robert of AIM was adjusted the Man of the Match's title.
Thangam of LUSA won the title of the Best Player while NYASO, Naorem won the Best Discipline Team's title.
