State athletes fetched 14 gold medals on the second day of the 24th North East Games at Shillong today in addition to adding nine silver and six bronze to the tally.
While S Premila provided the lone yellow metal in athletics winning the 10,000 metre race in 42 minutes and 23.30 seconds, the wushu competition saw a rush of gold medal wins when A Sanathoi Chanu and Y Sapna clinched three gold medals each followed by L Jhaljit's two and one apiece by Ch Debjani and T Rupachandra.
Archer Th Usharani also joined the gold feast winning Indian round competitions in 30 and 50 metres as well as the overall title.
In men's football, Manipur will take on Nagaland for a place in the final after an easy 4-0 win over Arunachal Pradesh in a quarter match today.
