Lamka, April 21 2010:
Quoting the tales of a couple of survivors in the Thangjing incident as was reported in 'The Gosem' and arguing that whatever may be the reasons for the misdemeanour of the culprits, the death of Kuki youths is beyond pardon, the Kuki National Organisation today said the incident only reaffirms their objective to seek self-determination.
'These blatant acts of communalism further affirm KNO's objective to seek self-determination for its people which will serve to establish safe detterence,' wrote the T Stephen Kuki, under secretary of the KNO in a statement today.
'The KNO would like to facilitate any religious group in their endeavour.
However, the organization would also express deep concern over the consequences of the Meitei people's pilgrimage to Thangjing hills,' it adds.
KNO also questions the efficiency of Henglep OC identified as Yaiskul for incarcerating the injured victims of the incident who were admitted at RIMS.
'The efficiency of the police officer in rounding up the Kuki victims is extraordinary' it said.
