Imphal, May 03:
Binoy's match winning figure of four wickets from seven overs for Blue Hawk overshadowed six wickets haul by Jodiva of Model Club as the former crawled to a two wicket win in the 3rd Rommel Trophy Cricket Tournament at THAU Sports Complex today.
With bowlers of both sides maintaining a disciplined length and line neither team could reach the 100 run mark as wickets tumbled at regular intervals in the match.
Model's decision of bat first proved disaster as Binoy with support of Joychandra (3 wkts) ripped through the Model innings for a meager 82 in 28.5 overs.
The Blue Hawk run chase suffered serious jolt when Jodiva bowled with fury to claim six wickets from his allotted 7 overs.
Chaoba and Chinglen took one wicket each.
However, Blue Hawk batsman Mikel stood up the challenging situation holding the team inning on one end as wickets fell on the opposite end.
His patient knock contributed a valuable 28 runs-off 43 deliveries before being bowled with victory in sight.
Boby, who remained not out, scored 15 facing the same number of balls to ensure victory for Blue Hawk in the 19th over with two wickets intact.
Jodiva and Binoy were declared joint man of the match.
