Imphal, May 03:
Even as the evaluation of the answer scripts of the Higher Secondary Education, 2004 conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur in March has been just started, ruckus have been raised over alleged asking of questions from out of the prescribed syllabus in the Mathematics paper.
Informing this to the The Sangai Express, a source informed that some of the teachers who are evaluating the answer scripts of the Mathematics are in a fix following the latest misnomers found in the question papers.
There is an urgent need for the Council to take a decision on as to whether marks should be allotted to these out of the syllabus questions or not and informed the teachers concerned accordingly, the source said.
Pointing out the questions in question, the source asserted that Question No 10, 23 and 35 of the Mathematics question papers are not included in the syllabus prescribed by the Council for the students of class XII.
Moreover, question no 23 and 32 are same.
The total number of marks being allotted to these controversial questions are said to be 8 and the teachers who are correcting the answer scripts are at a lost as to whether the marks should be awarded or not, the source said, ruing that although these types of problem always occurred every year but the Council do not pay any special attention at the time of setting questions as well as appointing teachers for setting the questions to avoid any complication.
