While informing that capital punishment has been given to the kingpin in the killing of van driver H Ibomcha, the NSCN (IM) said the investigations conducted by the outfit on the Lungnila Elizabeth murder case is over.
Talking to The Sangai Express today NSCN (IM)'s deputy kilonser of information and publicity, K Chawang said a security council meeting of the organization on the Lungnila murder case was held at Dimapur in the second week of April this year.
When this reporter insisted on what decision has been taken against the murder accuse James Haokip (Kuki) who is in their custody, Chawang however refused to give a direct answer saying due to political complication, details cannot be disclosed at the present juncture.
Nevertheless, Chawang assured to make the decision public once the complications are solved.
He also reiterated that James had taken Rs 5 lakh from the Tribal Development Minister Ngamthang Haokip, who handed over the amount to James through one of his accomplices.
Chawang also questioned the professionalism of Manipur police, contending that they (cops) should be fully aware of the transaction between the Minister and the culprits in the murder of the eight year old daughter GAD Minister Francis Ngajokpa.
Informing that another accused in the murder case Ajailiu of Peren sub-division of Nagaland is still in the outfit's custody, Chawang said that the CBI whose has been roped in by the Manipur Government may approach the NSCN (IM) in search for relevant facts.
On the van driver murder case, the deputy kilonser confirmed that as announced earlier, the organization carried executed SL Peter, the kingpin in the murder of H Ibomcha of Achanbigei.
It is pertinent to mention that after the outfit had declared to punish all those involved in the murder of Ibomcha some months back, Peter's body was found at a secluded area near Karong of Senapati district last month.
As further probe and findings on the involvement of the two others in the hijack and murder case got complicated, definite action against Kuba and Sokpa of Maram could not be carried out till date.
The two are still sticking to their contention of being forced by Peter to be a party to the murder, who threatened to kill them, conveyed the deputy kilonser.
On the reported claims of NSCN (IM) cadres' involvement in the 14th Lok Sabha elections in Manipur Chawang countered what benefit would the organization reap by taking part in the electioneering and hastened to add punitive action would be initiated against those if found involved in the polls.
He also rubbished the reports of the outfit's involvement saying whenever an undesired incident takes place in the entire North East region the outfit's name is inadvertently dragged into it.
