Imphal, May 06 2009:
Forty percent of children infected with HIV/AIDS have mental problem, Dr S Gajendra of the Psychiatric Department of RIMS said today while talking as a resource person during the media meeting held in connection with the World AIDS Orphan Day tomorrow.
Separation of parents due to HIV/AIDS has caused severe mental depression to their children; Dr Gajendra said adding that this fear of separation has been the most common disadvantage to the children.
The media meeting was organised by FHB Suraksha Manipur at its office located at Singjamei Kongkham Leikai attended by various media persons of the state as well as correspondents of newspapers from outside the state.
