A shop located on the western side of the Paona Bazar has been forced to close down for ten days from today by the volunteers of the All Club Organisation and Meira Paibi Lup (ACOM LUP) for allegedly selling goods at higher prize.
The closed down shop, M/s Golden Enterprises reportedly sold a PDC Angle costing only Rs 35 at Rs 65 as complained by Bharat Sales Agent to the ACOMLUP.
With regard to the matter, in a briefing to the media at the office of the ACOMLUP, its finance secretary, Indrajit Tourangbam said that representatives of the shop, Sh Pradipkumar Sharma and H Prakash had admitted that they had sold the goods at higher price.
In the present situation of the state, business selling goods at higher prizes for their own sack is an unfortunate thing and businessmen and shopkeepers should not indulged in such works of cheating people.
He also appealed the people not to enter to this very shop and buy goods in the coming 10 days which the body asked to close down and also asked to beware of selling goods at excess price.
The finance secretary also urged the shop to display the prices of the goods they are selling at the shop where customers could see it easily.
He also said the Golden Enterprises should also display that the shop is being close for 10 days for selling a goods at excess price asking the people not to buy any goods from the shop.
This should be done at the will of the proprietor of the shop Mukesh Sharma.
The shop should also remain open every day as usual but without selling any items.
