Imphal, May 06 2009:
The 357 Fd Hospital under the aegis of the Red Shield Division today organised a second medical camp at Leimakhong to provide medical aid to the villagers of P Moulding and surrounding Nepali villages.
A press release of the PIB (Defence Wing) stated that the said villages are isolated colonies perched on hill slopes of lower Leimakhong with no hospital or primary medical care.
Three medical officers including two lady officers provided necessary consultation and basic treatment of common ailments to the villagers who attended the camp.
A dental chair was also established for providing dental check up.
Health education on steps to prevent malaria and stop spread of STD's was disseminated to the clientele.
Special attention was given to antenatal diet and post natal care of self and child to the women folk.
Necessary medicines were distributed and tea alongwith snacks were offered to the patients, stated the press release.
