Along with formation of a Joint Action Committee on Immoral Activities with a view to make Tamei a model education centre, Women Front, Village Council and Youth Club of Namraining (Tamei) have decided that no organisation or individual should bring in intoxicating elements in any form into the town and any defaulter (s) would be imposed a fine of Rs 3000.The Committee has also resolved that any vehicle involved in transportation of such intoxicating elements would be imposed Rs 10,000 as fine and the vehicle would be detained until further order in this regard.
Following the resolution, the Committee had also seized 50 bottles of XXX rum on May 31 from one vendor and imposed Rs 3000 as fine while the seized liquor was destroyed at Arigiuky stream.
The Committee has also discovered 324 litres of local wine which was hidden along the roadside of IT Road and the same had been destroyed though the owner could not be identified.
