Imphal, June 11 2009:
The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) today refuted the claim of the Army PRO that an arm smuggler of the UNLF was arrested from Moreh yesterday.
In a statement, Senior Publicity Officer of the UNLF, Ksh Yoiheiba stated that the claim of the 'IOF' was concocted and false while saying that the arrested person Zawin has no relation whatsoever with the UNLF or its armed wing the MPA.
It stated that the UNLF has never procured any arm from smugglers as a part of its policy adding that the UNLF/MPA has its own arm suppliers/firms who understand the cause of the struggle for independence.
The MPA has succeeded in various battles with the arms supplied by the suppliers/firms with lesser prices, it stated while also asserting that there is no wonder in the usual baseless charge leveled against the UNLF by the security force.
Meantime, the UNLF statement further pointed out that the Assam Rifles of the 'IOF' have eliminated, caused to disappear, and inhumed numerous innocents including killing women in a way that were detestable even by the beast.
Yoiheiba also recalled the incidents of the killing of Satish in a fake encounter after he was arrested along with his companion Gunindro last month.
The statement also mentioned the killing of two individuals who went to Moreh to purchase their trade items - Seram Priyokumar and Laishram Keshorjit - at Maipi Angbrasu in a claimed encounter after they were dragged from a bus at Pallel on June 2 by 20AR.It added that the bruise and burnt marks in their bodies clearly indicate the atrocities committed by the AR.
