Mission Cell of Department of Soil Conservation and Horticulture under the aegis of National Horticulture Board kick started a two-day National seminar on the topic, �Citrus for export' at Supervisors training hall, Mantripukhri today.CAU Iroisemba Dean Dr N Iboton, National Horticulture Board Area Officer Dr RK Sharma and Horticulture and Soil Conservation Secretary BB Sharma graced the inaugural function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, BB Sharma said that efforts are being made to export Khasi Mandarin lemons and oranges produced in the North eastern States, which include Kachai lemons and Tamenglong oranges to other countries.
Maintaining that the climate of North East India is suited for farming of lemons and oranges, BB Sharma informed the gathering that Department of Soil Conservation and Horticulture has been putting its best efforts to exploit the condition since coming of Technology Mission in the State.
