Five companies of CRPF personnel for detailing during the elections have arrived at Imphal today as the formal notification for the first phase of elections which the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency to the 15 Lok Sabha election issued today by the state election authority.
As per the notification issued by the state chief electoral officer, the last date of making nominations for the candidature is on March 30 which will be followed by scrutiny on the next day and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is on April 2. The date of poll for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency is on April 16 and the polling hour is from 7 am to 4 pm, counting will be done on May 16 and all the election process is targeting to complete by May 28 as per the notification.
The deputy commissioner of Thoubal district is he returning officer (RO) of the outer ST seat.
Meanwhile, out of 69 companies of Central paramilitary forces to be sent by the Union ministry of home affairs for the poll purpose above the existing security forces in the state, five companies of CRPF have arrived Imphal today.
They have been reported at the CRPF group centre Langjing.
Five more companies of the same security establishment mean for the state has also arrived at Dimapur for onward proceeding to Manipur.
They are likely to arrive by tomorrow, official source said.
Ten companies of BSF will also arrived Imphal on March 26, the source added.
Meanwhile, a high level meeting chair by the state chief secretary held today review the security position in the state in connection with the ensuing elections in the state.
The meeting was attended by the state DGP and other concern officials of the state election authorities.
The meeting discussed on the mode of deployment of security for the poll, the source said adding that it was a followed up to the District level election authorities have also started processing for the elections in the state with the opening of control room for the Senapati district today.

The first phase of imparting EVM training to the district level polling personnel for the Tamenglong district will also start from March 24 at the DC office of the district, aonther released of the DIPR stated.
