A motor-bike rally in commemoration of the Assam Rifle's 174th anniversary and the 5th raising day of 27 Sector AR here at Tuibuang was flag-off today from Peace Ground by Brigadier Rajiv Pant, sector commander of the 27 Sector amidst much fun-fare and colourful festivity.
More than sixty enthusiast local bikers participate in the rally that begins from here and ended at IGAR (S) in Mantripukhri.
Addressing the flagging-off ceremony Brig Pant told the gathering that ushering the lost prosperity of Churachandpur was the aspiration of his forces under the 27 Sector.
'Churachandpur had produced dazzling personalities in the National level, but that was veiled by communal clashes and disgust, it is the objective of the Assam Rifles to restore that past glory,' he said.
Parallel rallies were organized by the paramilitary force from Singngat to Lamka and from Chiangpi to Lamka.
The force in their attempt to brew better understanding with the local populace has line-up various community based galas including musical concerts, road shows, competition in schools and 'know your security forces' events.
Bikers from the interior sub-divisions of Singngat and Thanlon were flag-in at Lamka Public ground while Maj Gen AK Chaudhury greets the rallyst from here at the IGAR (South).
The AR has a full backing of the student organizations here as leaders from CDSU, ZSF and KSO personally leads the rally that was suppose to take the message of peace and prosperity to every nook and corner of the State.
