Two individuals bitten by venomous snakes at Bishnupur and Chandel district areas have been saved by medical teams of the Army and Assam Rifles.
A PIB (DW) release said Gorkha Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division, Loktak Brigade provided medical aid to one Ashok Kumar RK (50) s/o (L) Gulab Singh of Bishnupur Ward No 14. Bitten by venomous snake on the right foot at around 6.45 pm yesterday, Ashok Kumar was brought to the Medical Inspection Room of Gorkha Rifles about an hour later.
After administering first adi by the unit Regimental Medical Officer, Ashok Kumar was kept under observation.
His condition is stable and out of danger, added the PIB (DW) release.
Meanwhile, PRO IGAR (S) has informed that timely and effective medical aid was provided by medical personnel of 8 Assam Rifles to a snake bite victim namely Thathang (40) of Khaitum village, Chandel on September 10. Thathang's condition has been stabilised, it added.
