Jiribam, November 27:
Students of Jiribam Higher Secondary School staged a sit-in-protest in front of their school today demanding adequate teachers, reports our Jiribam correspondent.
The agitating students also burnt effigies of Chief Minister O Ibobi, Education Minister L Jayantakumar and Revenue Minister Th Debendra in protest.
Gen secy of the Jiribam Higher Secondary School Students' Union P Paritomba said that the Union has decided to boycott the exams of class XI and XII to be conducted next year.
The Union further resolved to call an indefinite economic blockade on National Highway 53 with effect from Dec 3 if the Government fails to redress their grievances at the earliest possible.
