The JAC against the killing of Wahengbam Janeshwar alias Ibochou today hit the street by taking out a protest rally demanding prompt arrest of the murderers.
Dressed in traditional mourning attires, hundreds of men and women participated in the rally walking through the interiors of Wangoi and bypassed the Wangoi Police Station before proceeding to Lakshmi Bazar.
Relatives of the deceased complained that police had been unable to make any breakthrough in the murder of Ibochou on November 24 though the victim was an innocent school teacher.
Ibochou, who was found dead with deep wounds on his head, was due to be married on coming December 7.A sit-in-protest was also staged at Wangoi Bazar today in protest against the murder.
