The valedictory function of the 10 days participatory video documentation training for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs) was held at Hotel Imphal here today.
Commissioner (Health) SD Poonia; Deputy Director (Intervention) of Manipur State AIDS Control Society Dr Manikanta, secretary of ISTV Cable Network Th Bishorjit and UNDP trainer Prasant Rasaily were among the prominent invitees who attended the valedictory function.
The main attraction of the function was the screening of a 20-minute film dealing with the issues of social castigation and rehabilitation of people with HIV positive status.
Significantly, most actors and technicians cast and involved in the film making project funded by UNDP are PLWHAs.
The film making was done under the guidance of Prasant Rasaily.
Daisy Ningthoujam, Manipuri film actress and the lone professional artist involved in the film came up with memorable remark stating that after rubbing shoulders with her green-horn co-stars for two days, she felt that the real meaning of life is to live every moment of life to the fullest.
Two short documentaries produced by Nirvana Foundation, the facilitator of the training programme, drew appreciation for its bold and effective picturisation.
An official of Nirvana Foundation stated that it aims to achieve a commendable position in video documentation on the plight and day-to-day struggles of people living with HIV/AIDS.
