Imphal, November 27: In a major achievement, Imphal West District Police Commandos have apprehended four activists of the proscribed KRA from different places today.

SP of Imphal West District Clay Khongsai informed that acting on a credible information, the Commando team arrested one KRA member identified as Lairenlakpam Kumar Singh alias Eteicha (30) s/o L Gouramani Singh of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai Arambam Leirak from North AOC near PDA complex at around 1.45 pm today.

On preliminary interrogation, Kumar disclosed that the joined KRA in August this year through one Panao alias Inao Singh of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai and now working under his command.

One demand letter of the outfit has also been seized from his possession, the SP informed.

At the instance of Kumar, one more KRA member identified as Lairenlakpam Panao alias Inao (39) s/o (L) Lalo Singh of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai was also arrested from his own house.

On preliminary interrogation, Panao disclosed that he joined KRA in August this year through one Ningthan alias Jamthang of New Lambulane and he was assigned to collect money from the Government offices under the command of Ningthan.

Again based on the interrogation of the two arrested KRA members, two more members of the outfit identified as Jamthang Touthang alias Ningthan (62) s/o late Thongsei Touthang of T Gomnem Saikul but at present staying at New Lambulane and Letmang Touthang alias Mang (45) s/o Angam Touthang of Tuibong Churachandpur but at present staying at New Lambulane were apprehended from the house of Jamthang.

One mobile Nokia handset model no.3231 with SIM card was seized from the possession of Jamthang.

On preliminary interrogation, Jamthang disclosed that he joined KRA in March 2006 through one Jilli of a self styled commander of Saikul area of the outfit and he was assigned to collect paddy and money from the villagers of T Gamnam Saikul for party fund, the SP added.
