Tour to Kaziranga flagged off

With a view to enable them collect first hand account and learn about the biotic relations between Kaziranga National Park and inhabitants of the surrounding area and how the people there are earning handsome incomes through eco-tourism, altogether 140 villagers of the surrounding areas of Keibul Lamjao National Park have been flagged off to Kaziranga under the aegis of the Wild Life Wing of Forest Department today.
The villagers were flagged off by Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Dr S Singsit and Chief Wild Life Warden A Kharsing from Sanjenthong.
Speaking at the flag off function, Dr S Singsit said that the villagers are being sent to Kaziranga so that they can learn about eco-tourism and help in keeping Keibul Lamjao National Park healthy and undisturbed.
He exuded that the villagers would be able to learn about the responsibilities being shouldered by people of Kaziranga in protecting the national park from this trip.
