Imphal, February 21 2011:
One of two youths from Wangoi Top Siphai has been freed today even as police fired guns to disperse protestors imposing the dawn to dusk bandh along Mayai Lambi, which ended this evening at 6 pm.
Chabungbam Manglemba was released by his captors at a place between Koirengei and Luwangshangbam along NH-39 early this morning.
However, whereabouts of Longjam Suresh who was picked up together with Manglemba is still unknown.
According to Mangelmba, he was blind folded after being picked from his home on February 18 night.
The captors also ordered him not talk.
After a long drive, he was taken into an unknown place where he was kept blindfolded.
Charging him of collecting money from the people, they (captors) insisted to disclose the place he kept the money.
When he denied the charge, they beat him up with sticks.
After about a half hour , he was taken to another place.
Except at the time of answering nature's calls and partaking of meals, his hands were always tied though he was always kept blindfolded.
When he was taken from one place to another Manglemba recalled, that at every instant he thought of the idea that he could be killed at any moment by his captors.
He even bowed and prayed his captors to allow him to donate his kidneys, eyes and heart before being killed but they forbade him from talking.
Today, his captors before freeing him, took him to a vehicle for about two hours and forced him to lay on the ground and pulled up his shirt upto his head.
While he was this position, his captors fled away in the same vehicle.
After about 30 minutes of crying for help following the departure of his captors he came to realise that the place where he was freed was at Luwangshangbam.
This was around 3 am.
From there, he came on a free ride on an auto-rickshaw to Johnston school where he retold his ordeal.
He then went on foot to Keishmapat Parking and caught an auto-rickshaw to reach Wangoi.
His family then took him to RIMS hospital as he had received several bruise and injury marks.
But the whereabouts of Suresh still remains untraced.
Meanwhile, police fired to disperse protestors blocking the Mayai Lambi while they were escorting passenger buses and trucks while passing through Top Siphai area of Mayai Lambi.
The firing took place around 1 pm at Thongkhong Luxmi Bazar.
