Imphal, March 04 2009:
While urging the Government to hold back its decision concerning setting up of the designated camp at Lajangphai, United Peoples' Front (UPF), an apex body of a group of Kuki UG outfits which have signed Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Government has categorically stated that the UPF leaders would be taking a final decision in this regard very soon.
In a statement, information and publicity secretary of UPF SN Thadou asserted that decision of the Government seems to favour one organisation and closing its eyes to another organisation.
Calling upon the Government or its authorities concerned to conduct a spot inquiry in case of any doubt on the strength of the cadres, UPF has also urged for releasing the sanctioned stipend amount to be given to the UPF cadres after an appropriate decision of the UPF leaders.
UPF has also condemned killing of Non-Manipur and asked the UG group or gang concerned not to repeat such barbaric act in the future.
The Front has also appealed to all the people for restoration of peaceful coexistence and development in the State.
