A mass casual leave of all the government employees of Manipur today paralysed the normal functioning of all government offices in the state.
While many employees stayed away from work in connection with the mass casual leave, the state secretariat, South block and few other departments such as agriculture and horticulture saw very low percentage of attendance.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the murder of Kasom Khullen SDO and his two staffers have called for a mass casual leave of all government employees on Wednesday in protest against the murder besides a demand to book the culprit and a befitting punishment given to the culprit.
Meanwhile, the state government had earlier stated that it would declare the results of its enquiry into the investigation of the murder by Wednesday, March 4.However, an unconfirmed source informed that the chief minister, who was to give the results of the investigation, was out of station.
On the other hand, the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) for the All Manipur Trade Union Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Association (AMGEO) had also called upon all the government employees of the state for a mass casual leave on Wednesday, March 4, in protest against the alleged failure of the state government in implementation the 6th Pay Commission in the state.
