A joint border coordination meeting between Dimapur district administration, Nagaland and Karbi Anglong district administration, Assam held recently in Bokajan (Assam) discussed at length to check anti social activities like inflow of drugs and liquor, arms smuggling, extortions and killings and vehicles thefts through the porous border area in Dimapur (Nagaland) and Khakhati (Assam).
Official sources today said that Karbi Anglong Deputy Commissioner, M.C.Sahu, suggested for regular coordination meeting to share information and intelligence and joint patrolling by police of both the States to check illegal activities.
He also raised five agenda with regard to construction of RCC Bridge at Kargaon (Assam) and LRC Colony (Nagaland) bordering Assam and Nagaland state, construction process of RCC Bridge at Bor Lingri Assam and LRC Duncan Basti by public without formal approval from Assam Government, establishment of NSCN (U) camp at Burma Camp (Dimapur) and encroachment at Daldali Reserve forest.
Dimapur DC, Moangwati Aier stated that the main objective of constructing the bridges are mainly for the interest of the people of both the States' borders villages for commercial as well as educational purposes.
