Imphal, April 11: Sounding the clarion call to forge a united struggle to regain the lost freedom of the land on the occasion of its 25th foundation day, the proscribed KCP today said that the outfit was founded on April 14, 1980 to fight for the cause of the land and the people.

In a statement, the secretary of the publicity and propaganda department of the outfit today said that the only way to win the cherished dream is for all to take a united stand against the common enemy.

The internecine killing and the failure to take a united stand will benefit no one except the enemy, said the statement and added that blood letting between different armed groups has served nothing except add to the tears of the mothers of the land.

The outfit also called out to all concerned to stop killing civilians and later heaping blames and allegations on the dead.

The time has come for all armed groups to set aside their differences and stop differentiating on the basis of the strength of each group.

What is needed is the strength of unity and a unified stand, reiterated the outfit.

Acknowledging that guns alone cannot steer the course of the fight against the enemy, the outfit said that a common belief and unity coupled with efforts for the betterment of all is the need of hour.

Guns are today available easily and a number of people have taken advantage of this situation, robbing people in the name of underground outfits and even eliminating someone purely on personal matter, said KCP.

It is this evil that has to be checked and stopped, observed the outfit.

Selfishness, driven solely with the dream of becoming rich at the expense of others too should done away with for the overall betterment of the people and the land, said KCP.

On the political leaders of the State, the outfit said they should stop looking only after their own selfish interest and start thinking about the welfare of the people.

Parents and elders too should control their children and see from where they are bringing the money from, it added.
