Imphal, October 21:
Taking grim note of different issues creating confusion and chaos in the educational institutions, the Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has alleged that inefficiency of the Secular Progressive Front Government had led to such a disturbing situation.
Undermining invaluable services rendered by the teachers, lack of concrete initiative to redress students grievances on absence of infrastructure coupled with a despicable Govt policy of applying strong-arm tactics to subdue peaceful mode of agitation had unarguably contributed to the present mess in education sector, listed the student body in a statement.
Contending that short-sightedness on the part of the SPF Government had bred numerous problems currently besieging educational institutions of the State, MSF charged State authorities of complicating the situation by denying students of Government colleges sustain their academic aspiration even as the issue of Govt-aided colleges is yet to be resolved.
Expressing that absence of any visible policy for welfare of either the student community or the teachers is taking its toil upon the society, MSF suggested that rather than construing peaceful agitators as terrorists sincere approach to solve education related problems could bring about a radical change acceptable to all concerned.
Not ruling out possibility of intentional polity to create chaos in order to pave the way for politicians augment their bank accounts, MSF also questioned rationale behind thrashing of student activists and dumping them in jails instead of opting for a mature approach to solving all outstanding problems.
Without mentioning any specific incident, the student body nevertheless staunchly opposed burning down educational institution regardless of importance/significance of the agitators pursuit.
With particular reference to problems that cropped this year, MSF wondered whether denying education to the student community is part of celebrating SPF Governments five year in power or is causing turmoil in educational institution a hidden agenda of political parties in the SPF coalition.
On apparent security lapses, the MSF statement observed that more emphasis is being given towards safeguard of Ministers instead of protecting school and college buildings.
