The State Cabinet has agreed to extend services of all the 466 part time lecturers of Government Colleges who were terminated from service by a recent Government order along with payment of necessary salary till August 1, 2006.The Cabinet meeting which began from 4 pm and continued till late into the evening with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair also approved appointment of 84 regular lecturers in higher secondary schools.
After the meeting, a senior Minister of the SPF Govt informed that the State Cabinet in its sitting held in the Cabinet Room of the CM�s Secretariat has given nod to the service extension of all the terminated 466 part time lecturers along with payment of salary till August 1, 2006.The senior Minister further informed that the Cabinet also approved payment of arrear and salary of approved teaching and non-teaching staff of aided colleges in accordance to ROP 1999 from January 1, 1996 to 2000 as well as appointment of 84 regular lecturers in higher secondary schools through recommendation of MPSC.
While giving its approval to opening up of a Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Wangbal, the Cabinet also agreed to hike ration money of MR, Police and Fire Services personnel to Rs 570, the Minister said, adding the Cabinet also agreed to bring out the holiday list for the year 2007.According to the senior Minister, the other points which have been given approval by the Cabinet during its meeting today include appointment of an assistant curator for Kangla Museum, recruitment of 42 havaldars in Manipur Rifles, appointment of 27 Section Officers in Works Department, appointment of 17 Ministerial staff of District and Sessions Judge, Imphal East and West, regularising the services of 35 casual employees and 7 contract employees of Manipur Pollution Control Board, creation of a post of Additional Chief Election Officer in of the rank of IAS ex-cadre in State Election Department and to recommend MPSC to appoint a regular principal of DM College Teacher Education.
