With five of its company deployed on NH 53 for providing security cover and safe passage to civil convoys which are carrying essential commodities, petrol, diesel, LPG, life saving drugs and other essentials, 69 Bn CRPF is rendering yeoman service towards civil populace.
One company of the same unit is also providing ROP on NH 39 whereas its unit Hqs located at Mantripukhri has been assuming the responsibility to administer running of civil convoys on NH 39. All the IOC and FCI vehicles as well as civil vehicles are assembling at Mantripukhri unit Hqs for further movement to Dimapur through NH 39 where they are briefed about the current security scenario and likely threat perceptions.
On both the highways, troops of the CRPF unit are performing their duties under adverse climatic condition, braving inclement weather including poor road connectivity.
The current scenario when the State of Manipur is facing severe shortage of essential commodities due to ongoing economic blockade providing security cover to both the National Highways has become the most challenging job for the security forces and the unit under command of Sh UB Mishra is performing the job with utmost devotion and sincerity, said a press release issued by 69 Bn CRPF.
