The All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has said that "kidnapping business" had become too frequent in the hill areas of Manipur and urged the kidnappers of the six BRTF personnel and the two engineers to release them safely on humanitarian ground.
It is worth noting that six BRTF personnel and two engineers were kidnapped by unidentified persons on October 31 from National Highway-53.The personnel were over seeing the repairing work of the highway.
The statement issued by its general secretary Robert P Maram said that "people from all quarters must condemn the barbaric act of abduction and kidnapping people who are working for the development of the state" as kidnapping business has frequently occurred in hill areas of Manipur.
The Naga students� body appealed the persons involved in the abduction of the BRTF men and the engineers to immediately release.
