Imphal, November 09:
Charging Government Dance College Principal A Ranjit, Joint Director K Subita and Art and Culture Director Kh Sorojini of staunchly opposing affiliation of the institute, Federation of Indigenous martial Arts and Cultural Students (Fimacs) Manipur said social boycott stir against the three incumbents have begun with immediate effect.
Describing the three persons as individuals having scant respect to aspirations for upgrading the College and preserving the cultural entity of Manipur, the Federation also flayed the State Govt for lack of initiative to grant recognition/affiliation of one of the oldest institute to any Indian university, informed a release.
An explicit explanation is required on why the institute established some fifty years back and existing as the only dance college under the State Government for the last ten years could not be affiliated to a university which would have boosted development of the institute, questioned the Federation.
It further explained that the forthcoming golden jubilee celebration of the College would be bereft of the achievement spirit and akin to a ploy to cover up official apathy as certificates issued by the institute is not accepted or recognised at other institutes under prevailing UGC rules.
The keenness exhibited by the Director in celebrating the golden jubilee is merely an eyewash with a hidden agenda to garner easy money, charged the Federation while appealing to the students and all concerned not to participate at the celebration.
