Imphal, November 09:
The gas bottling plant taken up by the Indian Oil Corporation at Sekmai will be ready by April next year, disclosed a source adding that the IOC has already intimated the same to the Government.
The IOC has also outlined the reason for the delay in finalising the project.
Hectic efforts are on to speed up the work connected with civil work, requisitioning fire fighting equipments and water resources, said the source.
The water supply arrangements for the plant was delayed as the required Rs 7.63 lakhs was not deposited with the PHED on time, said the source adding that the 7 bores drilled to obtain ground water will not meet the demands of the plant.
The uncertain law and order situation which forced a large number of labourers to leave for their homes frequently also contributed to the delay in finalising the plant.
Construction of the bullet where the gas products are to be kept is yet to be completed.
The work will be taken as soon as the outstation labourers return.
