Imphal, October 22 2010:
The results of the DPC conducted by the Manipur Public Service Commission (MP SC) to recruit 401 MBBS doctors and 39 dental doctors in the Manipur State Health Dept is expected to be declared within the next couple of days, after cancelling the names of some candidates who do not come under the OBC category but nevertheless appeared for the DPC under this category by producing forged documents.
A highly placed source in the MPSC said that names of the candidates who have been found possessing OBC certificates inappropriate to their family position and social standing would be blanked out from the DPC results.
The results of the DPC was supposed to be announced in August.
But it has been delayed following detection of some candidates possessing OBC certificates fraudulently at the time of screening the documents of
the candidates.
The source, however, declined to divulge the exact number of such candidates who have faced the DPC.
Nonetheless, the source disclosed that the child of an Ex-Minister who was in charge of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, the child of a former Rajya Sabha MP whose wife was also a Minister in the UF Govt and the child of a former Cabinet Minister in the then coalition Govt of Congress and MPP were among those candidates who were found possessing OBC certificates during the screening.
It is for the first that OBC candidates have been included in any DPC conducted by MPSC.
To avoid any legal complication in future, the decision to cancel the candidates possessing OB-C certificates fraudulently has been started from this particular DPC, the source explained.
The source further disclosed that State Government has entrusted MPSC for requisition of 19 MCS, 25 MPS, 23 MFS, 25 MSS, 43 SDC and 3 Election Officers.
But the decision of the Government on relaxation of age limit of the aspiring candidates is still awaited.
In this requisition too, the particulars of the candidates would be cross-checked and if any candidates were found possessing OBC certificates inappropriate to their family status, MPSC would not issue appointment letters even if they were selected, the source added.
