Law department finds itself in a fix

Education minister himself has given approval to the DPC result for the appointment of primary teachers, Hindi matriculate teachers and Hindi graduate teachers which have been under scanner after Hueiyen Lanpao exposed concealment of the result without any reasonable reason.
From highly level sources, Hueiyen Lanpao learnt that the DPC result which was keep concealed for long time till Hueiyen Lanpao published it was a true one and followed the exact formality.
The finalized list of the candidates signed by members of the selection board was put up to the Education minister for his approval.
Minister himself gave approval.
The minister put his signature signed to the file put forward for his proposal on April 22, 2010 .
Law Department is in a state of confusion on commenting on the finding and recommendation of the high level committee looking into the authenticity of DPC result for the appointment of primary teachers, Hindi matriculate teacher and Hindi graduate teachers published by Hueiyen Lanpao in series with alleged concealment at the last minute of declaration of the result.
Mention may be made that Hueiyen Lanpao published the DPC result held in 2006 in series in its editions from June 28 to 26 last with alleged concealment of the result at the last minute of declaration with complete formality.
The result was about to stick at the notice board of the Education (S) Directorate office at Lamphel in April this year but failed to do so with best reason known to the government and officials of the department.
After a Cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister, O Ibobi discussed the matter after a high level committee investigated into the matter submitted its reports recently and referred to the law department for their comment apparently after the matter becomes more complicated.
Law Department is learnt to have been put in a state of confusion to give their verdict into the matter, a highly place official source said giving a hint that the result was kept concealed when some vested interested persons in and outside the government pressed to remake the selection list and to include candidates bring out from their pockets.
Education minister, L Jayentakumar was earlier served as a magistrate before he contested election.
He is an educated man and can read, write and speak English.
So, if government takes a decision to disapprove the result in the present form, there will be no way for the minister other than tendering resignation, observers commented.
Apart from this, Law Department has also been put in between two stones as there would be certain flaws in the eye of law when they give their comment to disapprove the result and recommend for re-conduct of the DPC.
On the other hand, candidates whose names in the published list are demanding authentication of the result and to issue job offer forms.
They have started launching relay-hunger strike from today at Singjamei Bazar parking.
Three of the successful candidates had also announced that they are getting ready to perform self immolation stir the day Sonia Gandhi visits the day.
Sonia Gandhi is expected to within the next month in the state.
Secretary of the Association of DPC Successful Candidates Primary Teachers, HMT and HGT, H Somerendro has expressed strong protest against government delay in the issue of offer forms to them.
If government fails to fulfill their demand even though they are launching democratic form of agitations, they may intensify their agitations.
