Imphal, December 07 2013 : Editors Forum, Manipur (EFM) and the Editors Committee (EC), in a historic move today merged to form The Editors Guild, Manipur (EGM), a common platform of all the Editors of Manipur both from the Hill and valley districts.

Editors Guild Manipur has been formed to enable the Editors of Manipur interact and work for a stronger media environment in Manipur.

The merger came following a discussion of all the Editors of Manipur at Classic Hotel.

Following the discussion it was decided that erstwhile Editors Forum Manipur and Editors Committee would merge as one entity and function under the registration number of Editors' Forum Manipur.

It was also decided that the Constitution, MoA and the all rules and regulations of the Forum would be retained till a suitable amendment is made to suite the objectives and agenda of the newly formed Editors Guild, Manipur.

28 Editors representing various media houses were present at the meeting, a statement issued by the secretary general of EGM said.

Following the merger, a new set of 14 office bearers were also nominated unanimously for a two year term with A Mobi Singh as the President (Editor, Manipur This Week), Witoubou New-mai as Vice-President (Editor, Newmai News Network), P Ibochouba as Vice President (Chief Editor (Kangla Pao), Ms.Valley Rose VP (Editor, Aja), Onjamang Haokip -VP (Editor Zalen Banner), Yumnam Rupachandra - Secretary General (Editor�in-Chief, Impact TV News), Addie Chiphang - Jt Secy (Editor The Dawn Tantak), Peter Adani - Jt Secy (Editor Hornbill Express), M Shivadutta Luwang Jt Secy (Editor Huiyen Lanpao -Meetei Mayek) P Labango Mangang � Treasurer (Editor Kangla Pao), Ramkung Pamei - Executive Member (Editor, The Cham), T Chandragupta - Executive Member (Associate Editor (Naharolgi Thoudang), Naorem Uttamkumar - Executive Member (Editor Image TV), Ranjit Oinamcha- Executive Member (Editor Paojel) .
