Ex-Minister passes away

Former Mi-nister Wahengbam Komol, who was elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly from Kumbi Assembly Constituency on MPP ticket expired yesterday morning at his Pishum Ningom Leirak residence.
He was 80 .
W Komol was elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly in 1974 and went on to become a State Minister taking charge of Cooperation, Tourism, FCS and Industries.
He also held the posts of Secretary and Vice-Chairman of Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board at diffe- rent periods.
Komol was born in 1933 at Kumbi Khullakpam Leikai.
He earned the distinction of being the first matriculate and graduate of Kumbi AC.
Meanwhile, Manipur Ex-MLAs' Welfare Association expressing deep condolence on the untimely demise of W Komol conveyed of sharing grief of the bereaved family member.
The Association also prayed for the peaceful rest of the departed soul in the heavenly abode.
