EFM, ECM emerge to form EGM

In a historic move, Editors Forum, Manipur and Editors Committee, Manipur today merged to form The Editors Guild, Manipur (EGM), a common platform of all the Editors of Manipur both from the Hill and valley districts, to enable Editors of various media houses in Manipur (both print and electronic) to interact and work for a stronger media environment in the State.
The merger came following a discussion of the all the Editors of Manipur at Classic Hotel here this morning.
Following the discussion it was decided that erstwhile Editors Forum Manipur and Editors Committee will merge as one entity but function under the registration number of Editors Forum Manipur.
It was also decided that the Constitution, MoA and the all rules and regulations of the Editors Forum Manipur would be retained till a suitable amendment is made to suite the objectives and agenda of the newly formed Editors Guild, Manipur.
In all, 28 Editors representing various media houses were present during the meeting.
Following the merger, a new set of 14 office bearers were also nominated unanimously for a two year term with A Mobi Singh(Editor of Manipur This Week) as President; Witoubou Newmai (Editor of Newmai News Network), P Ibochouba (Chief Editor of Kangla Pao), Ms.Valley Rose (Editor of Aja) and Onjamang Haokip (Editor of Zalen Banner) as Vice Presidents; Yumnam Rupachandra (Editor in Chief of Impact TV News) as Secretary General; Addie Chiphang (Editor of The Dawn Tantak), Peter Adani (Editor of Hornbill Express) and M Shivadutta Luwang (Editor of Huiyen Lanpao-Meitei Mayek) as Joint Secretaries; P.Labango Mangang (Editor of Kangla Pao) as Treasurer while Ramkung Pamei (Editor of The Cham), T Chandragupta (Associate Editor of Naharolgi Thoudang), Naorem Uttamkumar (Editor of Image TV) and Ranjit Oinamcha (Editor of Paojel) as Executive Members.
