Following threat and opposition from some social organisations to the conduct of HSLC examination in four hill districts of Manipur, Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) has decided to club together the examination centres along with deployment of adequate security personnel.
The HSLC examination is scheduled to start from March 12.According to a reliable source, the threat issued to the ZEOs of the four hill districts namely Senapati, Tamenglong, Chandel and Ukhrul has been brought to the notice of the Government.
Consequently, the Board has made the arrangement for setting up the examination centres only at the district headquarters as well as at other secured places from the security point of view.
Necessary measures for clubbing together the examination centres would also be made, the source disclosed, adding that the lifting of the required desks and benches from Imphal to Senapati district headquarters would begin from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the State Government has directed all the Deputy Commissioners//District Magistrates concerned for clamping Cr PC 144 around the examination centres for class XI and XII which are slated to begin from March 9.On the other hand, Thadou Students' Assn, Sadar Hills District Committee has expressed serious concern over the 'discrepancies' in connection with the upcoming COHSEM and BSEM examination and maintained that it has marred the reputation of the district.
Appealing to all the authorities concerned to maintain the sanctity of the examination in accordance to the prescribed norms and ensure that the examination norms are strictly observed, a statement issued by the president of the student body Hemkhohao Haokip informed that it would conduct routine inspection tour to all the examination centres to oversee the smooth conduct of the examination.
