Live viewing of Transit of Venus

Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) will be organizing a live viewing programme of Transit of Venus on June, 6 at GP Women's College from 4:27 am to 10:20 am.
Even if the sky is cloudy there will be an alternate arrangement through webcast.
Informing this in a statement, Th Surendranath Singh, Director of MASTEC has advised all those who have already procured Solar Viewer from MASTEC and would be getting Solar filter on the Transit Day to follow certain instructions.
The instruction include viewing only the projection of solar disk and not to attempt to observe any phase of the transit with naked eye; to project the image of the sun on a shaded wall through a pinhole, telescope or a pair of binoculars and never look directly through a telescope or a binocular and direct viewing should be done using only a scientifically tested/certified solar filter and smoked glass, colour film, sun glasses, exposed black and white film, photographic neutral density filters and polarizing filters.
He also advised the people against looking at the sun continuously even youth the solar filters but view it intermittently for few seconds.
