JnNURM buses: Terms, Conditions of tender to be reviewed

Imphal, June 05 2012:
Transport Minister Kh Ratankumar has assured that he would be giving special emphasis to ensuring proper service operation of semi low floor buses provided to the state under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) .
Addressing media persons at the conference hall of PWD, Khuyathong here today, Minister Ratankumar informed that 25 semi low floor buses have been supplied to the state under JnNURM.
Out of this, 14 buses have been brought to Imphal for the first phase.
However, as no report has been forwarded to the central authority concerned on the utilization of these buses, the remaining 11 buses are yet to be sent.
The Minister further informed that tenders have been issued inviting private firms for operation of semi low floor buses in the state on two occasions.
However, no private firms have responded to these tender invitations.
So, discussions are underway to review the terms and conditions of the tender.
Transport Director BK Sharma, Principal Secretary Transport Ram Muivah, Additional SP of Imphal West Herojit, DSP (Traffic) Victoria and members of UMTA were also present during the press conference.
