Along with Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly finalising that the 8th session or the monsoon session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly would be held from July 7 to 29, the Business Estimate, 12010-11 is all set to be introduced on the inaugural day of the session.
The decision to hold the 8th session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly was arrived at during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee presided over by Assembly Speaker Dr S Budhichandra on June 26 .
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, senior Cabinet Ministers and other Opposition leaders participated in the meeting.
Accordingly, it has been finalised that there would be in all 16 sittings and there would be no sittings on Saturdays, Sundays and July 23, which happens to be Kang festival.
On the day of the inaugural session on July 7, Budget Estimate, 2010-11 would be introduced and the discussion of the Budget would continue held for three days till July 9 .
On July 12 and 18, Demand-wise discussion would be held and the last day of discussion on Demands, the Manipur Appropriation Bill (III), 2010 would be introduced.
Efforts would also be made for tabling and discussion on the passing of the Electricity (Manipur Amendment) Bill, 2007 .
It may be noted here that for passing the Bill when it was send to the President of India for her consent, the latter had referred for further discussion.
On the last day of the session on July 29, Manipur Municipality Community Participation Bill, 2010 and Manipur Appropriation (No.III) Bill would be introduced.
